Aim
A training session to enable front line staff, working
with people with a range of conditions, to understand and implement person centred support in their working environment.

All staff working in health and social care.

Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course participants will be able to:
- Describe the term Person Centred
Support
- Descibe other terminology used to indicate person centred support
- Identify person centred values and descibe why they are important when supporting
service users
- Identify the key features of person
centred support and values based practice
- Identify why is it different and
how person centred support compares to other models in care
- Describe the advantages of working in a person centred
way
- Demonstrate how to use various tools in the workplace to promote person centred
support including; values based practice, active support, graded assistance, maximising choice and control, breaking down skills, building relationships and networks of support
Training Methods
Variety of pair and small group work; general discussions, case studies, multimedia clips
and a limited amount of lecturing.
